Personality: Tyabur is a lazy stoner without a violent bone in his body. He would far rather spend his time playing video games or eating than he would training or devoting himself to a cause. He's kind of a bum, honestly, and is not the kind of person who spawns epic legends. He plays in a band because he wants to impress girls more than anything. He is in college and planning to become a vet some day because he likes animals.
History: Tyabur's parents were born in the astral plane, which was a realm that was torn by warfare between factions of angels and djinn over esoteric religious differences. They fled because they didn't want their child to have to grow up with that life. The place they fled was the mortal world, where djinn could exist in a physical form. Specifically Oregon USA.
Tyabur grew up exposed much more to human culture than djinn culture, and has honestly had a pretty quiet life. He knows about his heritage since, in his own words, "my parents won't shut up about it." And despite those flippant sounding words he spends a lot of time thinking about it. He wants to go back and see the astral plane some day, but is kind of scared of the idea at the same time.
Currently, he is going to an obscure college in Oregon that is specialized towards helping non-human students. His best friends are a harpy and a tanuki. They don't have any epic adventures, they don't change the world. They just kind of hang out and get drunk and/or stoned while trying to avoid doing homework.
Abilities:While older djinn have many wide and esoteric powers, Tyabur can barely manage the basics, due to his relative youth (Djinn that have learned enough magic can drastically slow down their own aging and live for centuries.), and just not being particularly powerful. He can fly, but it takes all of his concentration and is more of an awkward hover. He can turn invisible, but can't move very fast while doing so, and bumping into anything will disrupt it. The only thing he can do alright is take an animal form. He can take the form of a large black snake with minimal effort. It is non-venomous, and not large enough to seriously harm a human, but it can get into places a human couldn't fit without trouble.
